TSUYOSHI YAMAMOTO

Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto was born in 1948. He started playing piano when he was in primary school. During his high school years, he was captivated by the live performances of the famous American Jazz drummer Art Blakey and his band The Jazz Messengers and started studying jazz piano on his own. In 1974, Yamamoto became the in-house pianist of "Misty", one of the best jazz clubs in Tokyo at that time. His album titled "Misty" by the Three Blind Mice label what's highly acclaimed and became one of the true classic jazz records from Japan. Up to now, his Trio, with current members Hiroshi kagawa on bass and Toshio Osumi on drums, remains the most prestigious piano Trio in Japan.
